Matriculation will be Thursday January 14th and Tuesday January 19th - starting at 10 am until 5:30 pm.  We need to have everyone who is planning on attending school to matriculate these two days (unless otherwise prearranged with Naomi or Cheryl) as we need to start buying the supplies, desks, etc in order to be prepared for the first day of school, February 1st. Uniforms will be available starting Thursday, January 14th. Uniforms will be 4,000 for the shirt and 4,000 for the pair of shorts.

You will need the following in order to matriculate:

·         First month’s tuition (65,000 for preschool and kinder, 90,000 for 1st through 3rd grades)

·         Matriculation/Registration fee (55,000)

·         Materials fee (50,000) (this will allow us to buy the materials such as the desks, paper, writing materials, etc).You can pay this in two installments if you would prefer (30,000 now and 25,000 by June 1st)

·         Accident insurance (INS) (11,500) (this is mandatory by law)

·         Student cedula or passport number (in cases of passport or permanent resident cedulas, they need a photocopy of the document)

·         Date of birth of child

·         Address

·         Name of one of parents with number of cedula or passport.

·         Copy of vaccinations

(If you would prefer, you can deposit the money directly into the school bank account and bring us the receipts – rather than paying cash. The bank account is BCR: 268-292-5). It is a cuenta corriente and the name on it Oportunidades Educativas.

On Thursday January 14th at 4 p.m. we will invite bus drivers to be on site. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE BUS SERVICE, YOU MUST ATTEND THIS MEETING OR CALL US IF YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT. We will facilitate a bus service to and from school. In other words, we will have the bus drivers on site that day to help the parents organize into two groups (north and south from the school) to determine who is interested in a bus service and where everyone lives. It will be the responsibility of the parents to arrange with the drivers the specifics in terms of where the bus stops and the costs. We will not be responsible for this service, but rather will help facilitate the connection with the drivers so that the parents can organize to arrange this service.

Las fechas de matriculación serán el  Jueves14 de enero y martes 19 de enero, empezando esta a las 10:00 a.m hasta las 5:30 p.m. Todos los interesados en asistir a la escuela deben matricularse uno de estos días (si no se ha llegado antes a un arreglado con Naomi o Cheryl) esto, porque debemos  empezar a adquirir recursos como sillas, papel, etc, ya que debemos estar preparados para el primer día de clase el cual será el  1 de febrero.  Los uniformes estarán disponibles el Jueves 14 de enero. La primera camisa y short costaran 4,000 cada pieza.

Para matricularse es necesario presentar :

·         Pago de la mensualidad del primer mes o comprobante si se ha pagado en el banco (65,000 para preescolar y kinder, 90,000 para primaria).

·         Numero de cedula o pasaporte del niño (en caso de pasaporte o cedula de residente permanente, traer fotocopia)

·         Fecha de nacimiento

·         Dirección exacta

·         Nombre de uno de los padres y numero de pasaporte o cedula

·         Copia de la tarjeta de vacunas.

El jueves 14 de enero a las 4 p.m, invitamos a los conductores de las busetas a la escuela. SI LE INTERESA EL SERVICIO, TIENE QUE ASISTIR A ESTA REUINION O LLAMARNOS SI NO PUEDE. Vamos a facilitar el servicio de buseta  para la escuela (ida y vuelta). Se organizaran dos grupos de estudiantes, los que viven al sur y norte de la escuela. El servicio de transporte  será responsabilidad de los padres, estos deben  organizarse con los conductores con respecto al  horario, precio, y los demás detalles. No tendremos responsabilidad sobre este servicio, lo que haremos es ayudar para facilitar la conexión con los conductores.

A new bilingual private school has arrived in the Costa Ballena!  Two private preschools in the area have merged into Escuela Costa Ballena, and will open its doors to grades 1-6 for the 2010 school year (beginning February 2010).  The plan is to add colegio grades (middle- through high-school) in the following year, eventually offering all grades from  preschool to 12th grade.
