Rio Magnolia Description

Our jungle eco-lodge is situated on a 280 acre property of mountain rainforest overlooking the Pacific halfway between Playa Dominical and San Isidro. The Lodge is an exciting combination of luxurious accommodations set in an eco-touristic environment. In the foreground of Magnolia House, the main lodge, sits the inviting infinity pool with a swim-up bar and terraces for sunning.
Dining is a wonderful experience at Magnolia House, “elegant” and “relaxed”. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available daily and included in the rates. Breakfast is your choice with fresh fruit and homemade breads always available. Menus for lunch and dinner are prepared daily.

Inquire about the guided Rainforest Tour with lunch for non-guests as well as “simply lunch” – reservations required a day ahead.
Rio Magnolia is also a great place for a destination wedding or a special group function. We can accommodate 16 people comfortably in our 3 Lodge suites, 4 cabinas and 1 villa. Please inquire about our special wedding packages.

We have just introduced special rates to reflect Costa Rica’s ‘Green Season’ or rainy season. But it is truly a beautiful and wild time of the year to visit the rainforest. It rains pretty well every day for a few hours, generally in the afternoon. Mornings are normally bright and sunny. During ‘Green Season’ stay 6 nights and get the 7th night free! Book your winter holiday (December 1, 2009 – May 15, 2010) by Sept 1, 2009 and receive ‘Green Season’ rates.

There is always lots to do at Rio Magnolia, any time of the year; hiking in the primary forest or up the river, bird watching, walking along the roads and pathways, horseback riding, swimming in the large infinity pool, or relaxing with a book and binoculars on one of the many covered terraces. Or, we can arrange day or half-day trips to one of the many south Pacific beaches, whale watching at Ballena National Park, Cano Island for snorkelling, Hacienda Baru National Wildlife Refuge for canopy tours and zip-lining. The lodge is approximately 11 km, as the crow flies, from the Pacific coast. Driving time to Playa Dominical is 40 minutes.

Río Magnolia promises to provide its guests with superior accommodations, food, service and a Costa Rican jungle experience. Wake up to the sounds of howler monkeys and toucans!
