La Cusinga Lodge, one of the most beautiful and well hidden Eco-Lodges on the South Coast of Costa Rica is opening the doors of its open air restaurant to the public for the first time. General Manager, Geinier Guzman, his vision of serving the most sustainable, organic and locally produce cuisine possible. Diners are invited to gather on the upper patio for complimentary bocas and an amazing 180 degree view of the sunset at 5:30. Dinner seating is at 6:30 they will cook and serve a three course meal of what is freshest and best that day. Recent offerings have included a Brazilian-style Shrimp Soup with coconut milk, lemon grass, ginger and pineapple; seared Ahi Tuna with basil infused tomato sorbet; and Pargo a la plancha in a papaya-fresh mint sauce served over culantro rice. Deserts are housemade and may be anything from a macadamia-coconut pie to almond-orange cake with two housemade sorbets. Vegetarians are, of course, welcome.
Seating is limited and reservations are encouraged 24 hours in advance so that the freshest ingredients can be selected. The price is $19.50 per person including tax and tip. La Cusinga cannot, unfortunately, accept credit cards or travelers checks.
We welcome you to join us for a truly special evening in a magical location featuring ingredients from our property and fresh seafood just out of the water. Our beverage service is limited to fresh juices and wine (red and white: Carmen from Chile), if you wish to have a beer with dinner feel free to bring your own. Our friends still love to drop by and have a great dinner with the best view in town! Our amigo Chef David is no loger with us, but we still have a great standards for the fresh food, our local staff makes the best traditional and organic food around. We have a family style dinning, where you get the choices that we have for the day (one or two... always a veggie option).
Just call us ahead, reserve a place and let us know how many, any restrictions or allergies, and we will let you know the time available. During high season it is a bit harder to get a place, but call us... and you will have the best meal in your holiday!
