My first experience with Que Pura Vida was when I

had a craving for some mashed potatoes, so I ordered those. What they brought me were the same sort of mashed potatoes that I've gotten at some pretty good quality establishments.
Que Pura Vida is set up like a typical Costa Rican restaurant in the Rincon de Uvita Sports Complex. This is where the

Madras is an excellent dining experience that is an example of the unorthodox way a restaurant can be in Costa Rica. Located almost exactly between Uvita and Ojochal, Madras is actually located in Playa Ballena. "Where?" you say. Well, drive on down the coast to kilometer marker 170. You'll see a sign for "Mar y Selva" on the inland side of the road. Turn up there and go about 100 meters.
Madras is closed on Wednesdays.
I have eaten the Thai food served at Madras - savory!
Check it out.

Restaurant Mi Sol is located just a few meters from one of the beaches in Marino Ballena National Park (Playa Colonia). You could reach us by entering into The Marino Bellena National Park Sector Colonia (Calle chaman) entrance.
Restaurant Mi Sol offers delicious traditional costa rican dishes made with love. We offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. The Owners Miram Solis and Ivonne Molina (mother & daughter) started off this business in Cabinas El Bambu 13 years ago but later on decided to break off and start their own thing. The restaurant is newly constructed with only a couple of months of operation. We are walking distance from the beach, only meters away, with a small but beautiful view of the ocean. Come join us from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. everyday!
A commercial center and sports complex, with the first gym south of San Isidro, was created by a European developer who believes in giving something back to the Tico (Costa Rican) community. Rincón de Uvita is an expression of this philosophy.
All shops, restaurants and services are Tico owned and operated. The one exception is the Farmers Market that is held every Saturday morning and is frequented by Ticos and Foreigners alike. The Saturday market is a regular event for people from all over the Southern Zone.
The complex features an indoor soccer field that is in constant use with league games & tournaments. A young local once remarked that he was profoundly appreciative to the owner of the complex since he knew, first hand, that it helped him and others to stay off the streets, plus helped him to stay in shape.
There is a fully equipped gym located on the second floor that offers aerobics, weight training and spinning classes. The Rincón also has 2 restaurants, a cafe, and an office supply store.
The Dome is the FIRST drive-thru in Southern Costa Rica. We are most well-known for our burritos, but we also offer burgers, vegetarian meals and 100% real fruit smoothies. Our goal: provide good food and good service, North American style. We have the coffee ready for you at 6am and stay open until 6pm Monday thru Saturday. Closed Sunday. Look for the "dome" on the right just south of the bridge in Uvita.
